Gala Premiere of Levon Helm Documentary to Feature Live Performance by Laurelyn Dossett

GREENSBORO, NC Geeksboro Coffeehouse Cinema is proud to present an exclusive gala premiere the Levon Helm documentary Ain't In It For My Health: A Film About Levon Helm at 4 & 7 p.m. Saturday, June 8.

Directed by Asheboro, North Carolina native Jacob Hartley, the film documents the final years of Helm, a founding member of The Band, as he attempts to record his first studio album in 25 years while battling the cancer which would ultimately claim his life.

Greensboro North Carolina based musician Laurelyn Dossett wrote one of the songs that Helm recorded, and she will perform before the 4 & 7 p.m. screenings. Dossett will also host a Q&A about her experiences working and performing with Helm after the 7 p.m. screening.

Tickets are $8 each, or $7 for seniors, students, and military.

Geeksboro is located on 2134 Lawndale Drive. They will also be playing the film throughout the week at 12, 2, 4 & 9:15 p.m. (the 9:15 p.m. screening will be canceled on Sundays).
